ShoveBid for #1

Rules

Shove is a public pay-to-rank leaderboard. Rank is the bid. Nothing else moves you. The rest of this page is the math and the bans.

How rank works

The board is sorted by bid, highest first. Clicks and cost per click are public so you can see what the money bought. They do not change the order.

What a listing costs

Bids are whole US dollars. Minimum is $1. Maximum is $999,999. A new listing pays the bid in full.

Top-ups

If the same URL or @handle is already on the board, the new bid must be at least one dollar higher than the current bid. You pay only the difference.

Taking first place

To take #1 you have to bid at least five dollars above the current #1, unless that listing is crown-locked. During a lock you can still bid; you just cannot become #1.

Equal bids

If two listings bid the same amount, the older listing keeps the higher rank.

Crown lock

Pay five times the current #1, or $25, whichever is larger. That holds #1 for three hours. Other bids still land at the rank the amount can take under the lock.

What you cannot list

Chat and invite links are banned: Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, Messenger, Signal, and their short hosts (t.me, chat.whatsapp, discord.gg). Link shorteners are banned (bit.ly, t.co, tinyurl, ow.ly, is.gd, cutt.ly, rb.gy, lnkd.in). Sexual and NSFW hosts are banned. Query strings are stripped. App Store, Play, and GitHub listings are keyed by path.
